The May 2026 FIFA Futsal World Rankings incorporate data from 84 new women’s matches, including 18 qualifiers for the UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027 and 66 friendlies. For men’s rankings, 321 new matches are considered, featuring competitions such as the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 in Indonesia, CONMEBOL Copa América de Futsal 2026 in Paraguay, and UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 across Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia.
The top six women’s nations remain unchanged, with Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Italy, and Japan leading the rankings. France has made significant progress, climbing 15 places to 33rd position.
Costa Rica and Fiji also saw notable improvements, moving up to 27th and 59th respectively. In men’s rankings, Brazil retains its top spot after winning the CONMEBOL Copa América de Futsal 2026 for a record 12th time.
Portugal (2nd) and Spain (3rd) follow as UEFA Futsal EURO runners-up and new European champions, respectively. Argentina (4th) and Iran (5th), who successfully defended their AFC title, complete the top five.
Indonesia has risen ten places to 14th after competing in the Asian finals.
