IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi addressed the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) event, emphasizing that the consensus on resolutions regarding Iran at the UN Security Council has ended and is unlikely to return. He highlighted that this situation extends beyond just Iran’s case within the Security Council’s ability to find common ground.
During a press conference earlier, Grossi described efforts to end the conflict between Tehran and Washington as a complex process and stressed the importance of allowing this process to continue. Additionally, he stated that any potential peace agreement between Iran and the United States should involve the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from the outset for monitoring Iran’s nuclear program.
The Associated Press reported that Grossi, currently a candidate for UN Secretary-General, made these remarks.
