Pakistani Interior Minister Continues Diplomatic Efforts in Iran

Pakistani Interior Minister Fawad Naqvi conducted another round of talks with Iran’s top diplomat in Tehran on Friday, as part of ongoing consultations aimed at easing tensions and advancing diplomatic solutions. This visit marks the second trip by Naqvi to Tehran within a week, following meetings held earlier this week.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral economic and scientific cooperation, promoting regional stability through Islamic unity, and Pakistan’s role as a mediator in negotiations between Iran and the United States. The consultations took place against the backdrop of recent military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Iranian officials have stressed that regional security can only be achieved through the withdrawal of external powers and strengthening ties among neighboring Islamic states. Tehran has appreciated Islamabad’s “sincere and committed efforts” to reduce tensions and facilitate dialogue.

Additionally, reports suggest that Chief of the Army Staff of the Pakistan Army Field Marshal Asim Munir is expected to travel to Tehran as part of mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. These diplomatic initiatives underscore the importance of regional cooperation in addressing ongoing conflicts and promoting stability in the Middle East.
