Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the Iranian proposal to the United States, mediated by Pakistan, is focused exclusively on ending US-Israeli aggression against Iran and hostilities in the region. The plan does not address Iran’s nuclear program, contrary to recent media reports suggesting a 15-year suspension of Iran’s nuclear activities or cooperation with the U.S. on mine-sweeping operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
Baghaei emphasized that Iran is currently concentrating on ending regional conflicts, particularly in Lebanon, and will make decisions regarding other matters at an appropriate time. He dismissed media speculations about potential guarantors for a possible agreement between Iran and the United States, asserting that Tehran’s leverage comes from its domestic power and capabilities rather than relying on Washington’s commitments.
The spokesperson also highlighted that the U.S. and Israel launched unprovoked attacks against Iran in mid-June and late February while Tehran was engaged in diplomatic talks with Washington over its nuclear program.
