In an interview with The Times, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the country’s commitment to ensuring durable stability in the region. He expressed hope that a second round of talks between Iran and the United States can be held and highlighted Islamabad’s optimism about achieving lasting peace between the two nations.
Since the conflict began, Pakistan has acted as a key intermediary, hosting an initial round of talks in Islamabad last month and conveying an Iranian peace proposal to U.S. officials. Additionally, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi recently conducted unannounced talks with Iranian officials in Tehran, further demonstrating Pakistan’s active role in diplomatic efforts.
