In a statement on his X account, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, announced the creation of a new system designed to manage traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. This system is intended to align with Iran’s national sovereignty and ensure international trade security.
According to Azizi, the mechanism will involve a designated route for commercial vessels and those cooperating with Iran, while excluding ships from „hostile countries“ associated with the „freedom project.“ The new system aims to provide specialized services for which fees will be collected. Azizi emphasized that only compliant parties would benefit from this arrangement, highlighting Iran’s commitment to maintaining control over the strategic waterway.
