Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, met with the head of Russia’s Council of Muftis, Mufti Ravil Gaynutdinov, to convey the Iranian Leader’s appreciation for the Council’s condolences following the passing of Iran’s previous Leader. Jalali emphasized that Iran had not initiated any attacks and accused the United States of making false pretexts to launch strikes during ongoing negotiations.
He urged Arab neighbors to take control of their own security in the Persian Gulf rather than relying on U.S. intervention, describing it as a significant mistake. During the meeting, Jalali highlighted Iran’s historical stance towards Israel, noting that before the Islamic Revolution, the Pahlavi regime recognized and hosted its embassy in Tehran.
He argued that much of Iran’s current struggle is due to its confrontation with the Israeli regime. Mufti Gaynutdinov expressed gratitude for the Iranian message and prayed for Russian Muslims, emphasizing solidarity between Russia and Iran against U.S. and Israeli aggression.
He praised the Iranian people’s unity and courage, which he believes have thwarted attempts to destabilize the country. Gayanudinov also called for Muslim unity as a means to counter repeated aggressions in Gaza, Syria, Iran, and Lebanon.
He stated that foreign military bases cannot ensure security and that Arab states are now recognizing this reality. The meeting underscored the growing importance of regional cooperation and solidarity among Islamic nations in addressing common threats.
